Active ingredients: Coffea Arabica Seed Oil and Brassica campestres Steryl Esters

Coffea Arabica Seed Oil: Coffee extract is being used in slimming cosmetics due to the natural caffeine content of coffee beans. In addition, the extract has been found to be a powerful antioxidant. Coffee bean butter is produced by hydrogenating the cold pressed oil from roasted coffee beans with other vegetable oils. The light hydrogenation process creates a butter with good oxidative stability and a smooth, silky feel. Findings to date suggest this  might improve physiological balance in the skin, thus allowing the formation of new connective tissue, and preventing epidermis dryness by increasing AQP-3 levels. Taking into account the limitations of in vitro studies, it is encouraging in this context to consider CGO as an adjuvant to be used in dermocosmetic formulations. Clinical studies are in progress in our laboratory aiming to further investigate the protective effects of CGO in the skin.

Brassica campestres:  Commonly known as field mustard or turnip mustard is a plant widely cultivated as a leaf vegetable. It is also used for the treatment of skin diseases, particularly in India.

Steryl Esters: Steryl esters are stored in intracellular lipid droplets from which they are mobilized upon demand and hydrolyzed to yield free sterols and fatty acids. Used in dermocosmetic formulas the ingredient has substantial water holding properties.
